Next to the church of Santiago degli Spagnoli and built over the underground walls of the Domitian stadium, the building forms the southeast end of Piazza Navona. This recuperation is an opportunity to repristinate the building in its entirety, taking its broadest meaning: “to give value back to something that had lost it”. The intervention is intended not only to adapt the uses and program to the needs of the Embassy, but also to provide the building with a unitary character and to value the nobility of its spaces, its internal structure, making it part as an institutional unit of the extraordinary urban space of Piazza Navona.

Differences in levels are solved, lost spaces are recovered and on the ground floor a wide entrance atrium is open towards the Plaza linked to the new vertical connection of two free-standing elevators in a luminous glass box that releases the window of the lunette of the Serra Chapel, previously hidden with a lousy construction. From them you can reach the upper rooftops where you can see a 360º view of Rome.
