The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain, in collaboration with Medina Azahara of Junta de Andalucía, organizes the conference and talks “The challenges of Heritage” that will have feature the Vice President of the Government of Spain and the UNESCO General Director. This meeting, open to the public and professionals, will explore the possibilities of historical heritage as a resource not only economic, but also educational, environmental, cultural and scientific.
The first part, at 12:00 hours, will include the participation of italian architecture historian Francesco Dal Co and the Spanish architects Fuensanta Nieto and Ángela García de Paredes from Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos.

Ángela García de Paredes will be lecturing at “The Constructive Dialogues: Spanish Ceramics Innovation in Context” symposium. This is a one-day event presented by ECAlab, and hosted by TATE Liverpool on Saturday 29 September 2018. This is the second in a series of symposia that aim to spark a discussion around the multiple attributes of ceramics as a versatile and phenomenological architectural material.

Ángela García de Paredes to judge AR Emerging Architecture
Ángela García de Paredes, co-founder of Paredes Pedrosa Architects will judge the AR Emerging Architecture awards this November in Amsterdam organized by Architectural Review.
Now in their 20th year, the AR Emerging Architecture awards support young architects and designers at a key stage in their career, promoting their best work to a worldwide audience. Previous winners of the awards include Sou Fujimoto, Klein Dytham, Anna Heringer, Bjarke Ingels, Thomas Heatherwick, Sean Godsell, Li Xiaodong, Frida Escobedo and Paredes Pedrosa in the edition of 1999.

Shortlisted Women Architect of the Year 2018
Ángela García de Paredes and Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos work, Two Houses in Oropesa, have been shortlisted for the Women Architect of the year 2018 award granted by The Architectural Review and The Architects Journal.
The award aims to recognize and reward the works and designs made by architects from around the world promoting models that serve as inspiration and example for other professionals.
They also opt for the prize Sandra Barclay from the Barclay & Crousse office (Peru), Biba Dow from Dow Jones (United Kingdom) and Stephanie Macdonald from 6a Architects (United Kingdom).
